A decent download manager/accelerator?

It does not make your internet faster, it makes multiple connections so you can download faster than that website wants you to download. Even with a download manager, you can not download faster than your line speed.
Then I might be looking for something more like Pando Media Booster?

My brother used it on his comp once when he wanted to play Maple Story and he was getting speeds from 6-7mb/sec when the usual download speed for us is 600-700kb/s, most I've ever seen without a booster i 1.9mb/sec, but it'll go down to 600-700 and settle there.

You can increase your current speed by tweaking some values in the registry. I recommend TCP Optimizer as it tweaks those registry values for you.

If you use firefox then you can download the plugin: DownThemAll! which does the same as any other 'download accelerator' but integrated into firefox.

You're not getting speeds like 6-7mb/s out of a connection that used to give 600kb/s. You're getting 6-7 mbits/s. That's actually worse than 600kb/s. With ADSL/Fibre and similar it's simply impossible to get more out of your line than the max the ISP sets.

Internet Download Manager works fine. Got DAP PREMIUM too.
