With the chinese aion open beta now avabilable to all, i found this guide which is extremely helpfull in getting ingame. The chinese version is alot easier for us to play and with the english patch you can get a early experience of what aion is going to be like.

Today i got about 10 pms asking me for a little tutorial to get the english patch working with the chinese Aion. So here's a little guide for you guys.
(The most of you prolly know it already, but ima write it down anyway)
Step 1.
Make an account. Go to the following page:
http://register.sdo.com/sdo/reg/common/inputinfo1.asp?from=78
and fill out the form.
1st field: Username (dont forget to press the ID check below)
2nd field: password (atleast 4 charakters)
3rd field: repeat password
Leave the blank field in the middle empty.
Last but not least enter the code correctly and press the large button.
Step 2.
Download the client from this site:
http://aion.sdo.com/web3/news/down.asp
You'll need the parts AION_Setup_0.9.5.0.exe Data.z01 Data.z02 Data.z03 and Data.zip
I recommend using a download manager/accelerator since it downloads the parts much faster as a http browser would.
Flashget is a good choice for that, you can get it here -> Click
Step 3.
Add an ID to your account.
If you want to play more then 6 hours a day, you need to add a chinese adult ID, or you wont be able to gain exp or farm for the rest of the day (which sux ^^)
Go to -> http://www.sdo.com/loginPT.asp and login
If you have successfully logged on, you can add an ID on the following page:

If you see the following screen, you have successfully added a adult ID to your account:
Step 4.
Update your client using the following settings (it will ask you when you first start the launcher)
Click the left button to confirm and then the big one on the bottom right to start the patching:
Once the patching is finished,start the game once and close it again.
Step 5.
Applying the english patch.
a.) Download the language file from > here < and put it into your Aion/L10N folder.
b.)Change your location and unicode settings to English(US)
If you use vista, go Control Panel -> Regional and Language Options
