Anyone found this problem....

Hey guys n gals!

Just a quick question to see if anyone has had the problem of not being able to access ANY world entry sites on any map??!??

Im using 'OGPlanet' client and the 'RZPatch.zip' patch.
PS. If anyone knows how to correct this problem, feel free to post it! LOL!

PPS. If this has been posted already, then I appologies! I DID HAVE A LOOK! ;-x

I have no such problems. I use an OGPlanet client (not updated as it doesn't need it) and saur0n's synch patch which is what you are using, though i have replaced my cabal.enc with an older one that is supplied in the /etc/data/docs folder of my server file.

And also, I have found that when starting SkillRank 5 quest, when I enter dungeon, my cabal crashes with an error 'Please send an error report to ESTSoft.blah..blah..blah.

Hmm.. first, the files Chumpy talked about, are in your CentOS machine. Use WinSCP to drag them out.

Sorry, I cant upload mine, because I cant seem to find out my CentOS IP anymore.. I typed ifconfig, and alot of stuff came up, just no IP.

For the Skill Rank 5 quest:

I had that problem too! I got it fixed tho, I think it was because I used the enc files, combined with a CLEAn OGPlanet Cabal client. Just download and install Cabal again, BUT DONT, OH I BEG YOU, PLEASE DONT RUN IT! EVER!! That would ruin it all. Maybe not EVERYTHING, but its not a risk Im willing to take. I dont wanna download Cabal again

Im currently using a clean version of OG planets client. But I will try to replace the cabal.enc file from the server.

Ok re-installed client and re-patched it!
But still no world entry access.

I also quickly tried the latest version of the proper Cabal and patched it. Still had no entry to B1F or Ruina Station etc. But then obviously crashed when I went to Bloody Ice! LOL!

Maybe its server config or setting in worldsvr.ini???

It isn't a setting. You should not patch the client because the format of the enc files has changed and if you have new format ones it causes problems.

The reason for 99% of d/c problems including using warps is simple. The enc files (cabal.enc mainly) containg copies of most of the data in the data folder on the server and if the 2 copies do not match you get the d/c. We can't edit the enc files so all we can do is decode them and then match the server data to the enc files.

I personally use a clean og client (not patched) with the client files in the etc/cabal/dcs folder and it has been so long since i saw a crash i can't remember the last one. If you use my v2.5 server files and that combination of client and patch then just let me know what doen't work and i can test.

I know dungeon entry is ok as i have been doing almost nothing but dungeons for about 2 weeks testing a few things (such as the "lamp in a wall" bug). I last did Ruina 3 days ago.

That being said i have plans to release my own client soon to try and standardise our clients and possibly start working on non English clients.

I keep my US installer so i don't have to re-download it every time a break my client

Thats why im thinking its a server setting or problem becuase I installed a fresh client twice again but still returning to the same problem. So im kind of still stuck.

If you are using my server files then you have exactly what i do (minus the new features i have added, the data is the same though). Try a clean OG client and my patch from the /etc/cabal/docs folder as that is the exact client i am using.

What is the error you are gettng, is it a d/c or a popup box complaining about "corrupt" files?

And yes, im using your server re-pack files.
I have given myself EOD B1F NO EXPIRY and Undead Ground, tower of the dead is unlit so I have no access.

Would it matter if my character is set to GM?? Just thought of it!

What class rank are you? Neither of those dungeons will let you in unless you are a high enough class rank. I think b1f needs class rank 8.

Being a gm would make no difference. If you are only class rank 5 it's going to be that.

I'll test the rank 5 dungeon again but it was ok last time i tried it.

I forgot about quest chains.
Im the correct level and correct rank, but not done the quests!

Another earlier problem, My machine now disconects me when doing level up rank quest '7'.

Seems like I have learned something even though I have played this game for AGES!
Chain quests are necassary for some components of the game.

I WILL SURELY BEAR THAT IN MIND!
