Well... I'm sorta panicking about my AP Government Exam tomorrow...
Anyone got any practice exams?
Or maybe I'm just overestimating it o-o

Don't stress over it. AP exams are not all that hard. So much hype over nothing. I took the AP Computer Science exam and got a 5 on it with ease. In fact I was done in less then half the time.

The teacher went on and on for about 2 months prior about how hard it's going to be. Though when the exam came, it wasn't nearly as hard as they teacher made it out to be. They typically just over exaggerate to make sure you people study for it.

Also it's never good to stress out too much. Makes you nervous and then you'll start to forget. Just relax and things will come better to you.

Yeah they make those things sound harder than they are. Imagine a test that asks a question about each of the topics you learned all year. 'Course I'm not one to talk since I've never taken an AP exam lol (Wh005h did IB /fail)

Ever heard of google? AP means advanced placement. In high school you can take an AP class on most subjects. What it is basically is the university class taught in high school. At the end of the class you can take the AP exam and if you pass you can receive college credit if you do well.

Like for instance I scored a 5 (out of 5) on the AP CS exam. I can then use it to substitute for a 3 credit Introduction to Java Programming class here at my college. If I wanted to that is.

So most of you took these exams? Man, because I went to an orientation and they said,

"AP EXAM IS HARD!"

But does it affect your overall marks if you get like a 70, while you have a 90 average?

I just took some tests myself.
BC Calculus and AP Computer Science. I'm pretty sure I got 5s on both (more CS than calc for some reason as I finished 50 minutes early on Free Response).
I still got more to take so I'm still studying a little bit. What pisses me off is that teachers make us take practice BC Calc ap exams. I didn't do a single one because it was tedious. Now they're all due tomorrow, after the AP exams.

@soulreaper
It would not affect anyone's overall grade. The reason for that is that results come out in July, well after the last day of school for most of us.

F*ck, i took my AP Calculus AB exam on wednesday, i think i didnt study the whole year. It was hard :*:

It depends.... My teacher made it seem harder then what it is. Hell, the practice exams he gave us were about 4x as hard as the actual exam.

Also the grading isn't done by percentage. They grade all the exams and then scale them and place them in percentiles based on the scaling.
5 = top 10%
4 = next 15%
3 = next 50%
2 = next 15%
1 = bottom 10%

Those aren't the exact percentages but just a rough estimate.

50 mins early isn't bad at all. I personally finished way to early on the AP CS exam. The multiple choice only took me about 30 mins. Then the free responses only took me 25 mins. The worst bit about that is 10 mins of the free responses had me drawing ASCII art of a fish and a chef on the questions about the Marine Biology Case Study. Lmfao...

i hope i get at least a 3 on my AP Calc AB exam.. i hope its graded the way NoPeace said and that not many people scored well

yeah and my teacher told me something... each year the AP Exam is different... when too many ppl get low scores they make the exam easier the next year, and if too many ppl get high scores then they make it more difficult the next year. My friend got a 4 last year and he said it was really easy, so this year was the harder one.. that means i had bad luck :sleep:
