Ok My friend owns an apple pc and of course, cant play any games. Is it possible to install XP on a apple computer?
It runs Windows, too.
Have a Windows application you need to use once in a while? No problem. Every new Mac lets you install Windows XP and Vista and run them at native speeds, using a built-in utility called Boot Camp.

Setup is simple and safe for your Mac files. After you’ve completed the installation, you can boot up your Mac using either Mac OS X or Windows. (That’s why it’s called Boot Camp.) Or if you want to run Windows and Mac applications at the same time — without rebooting — you can install Windows using VMware or Parallels software.*

So the only way is to dual boot the system? It can't run windows alone? How new do they have to be for them to have Boot Camp?

Can I ask why you wouldn't want to leave OS X installed?
My friend and his parents aren't tech savy so I am pretty sure they wont be switching between the OS's once windows is on it, making OS X completely useless.
They should just buy a new computer. Macs are obsolete, over-priced, and overrated.
Overpriced ok that's somehow true, you can buy better laptops even pcs with half of the price of a mac, BUT they are only obsolete if you don't know how to use them, Macs are very good for several things, it has many good things and also bad things, but just because they are different from XP and because you can't run your stupid games on it, doesn't make them obsolete or overrated... Don't judge a book by it's cover, just because you can't do the things you are used to do in windows, doesn't mean you can do many other good things with a mac...
Getting on topic, Yes if they arent really techy, MAC should do good on them, just get Office for mac, and if its TOO important to play stupid games, simply use bootcamp or something like it, or check if the laptop uses a intel processor and install XP on it... I'd keep Mac if I was your friend

I used a Mac for 3 years. It was truly sickening. It felt as if the GUI had training wheels.
You couldn't be further from the truth with that. Why is it then, that a 5 year old mac still runs fast, and a 5 year old PC would take at least 5 minutes to start up if it were up to date, even on XP? I can see how people think they are over-priced, but think about it - Apple produce the hardware and software. Everything is made in a way that will work with no drivers needed at install, and very few required in general. It all just works. And with OS X Leopard, the GUI is perfect and fast. I've had my mac for nearly 4 months now, and the only program that's crashed was Guitar Pro, and that's only happened once.
Overrated? No. The industry standard for video, music and picture editing are all available for mac, with 2 of the 3 exclusively for mac. The 2 that are exclusive for mac are made by Apple. I think that speaks volumes in itself.
The long and short of it is that a mac can do anything a PC can do and more besides. Like Windows? Install it in 1 of 2 ways (boot camp or a virtual machine) and still keep OS X. Simple
