hey can some1 explain me how can i cut some film n use it like avatar?

I mean i supose, 1st ill have to cut the film, 2nd change it to .gif or something like that n then....

Btw, if i have already the gif that i want to use, how can i add some text on just 1 determinated section?

EDIT: now that im asking...

Ive seen some peepl signatures (like the DIgitalDoom logo), that use 1 scale of colors, can some1 tell me how to do too plz???

for the scale of colours search on the internet for html code colour charts this will give the range of colours

then use [ color= (#colorcode u need )]h[/ color] on each letter changing the colour slightly to get the effect

ofcourse get rid of the spaces/braketts i put in above
