got a new mobo (the one i bought 3 months ago) and my 8800GT wouldn't work with it once the drivers were installed. after spending quite literally 6 hours playing with my BIOS and flashing it at least 4 times over the past 2 days, i finally got it to work.

Also, i had a dodgy version of Intel Speedstep which permanently underclocked my e6600 to 1.6ghz, even under full load. Had to remove that (you have to disable like 3 things just to remove that 1 feature!), then finally managed to tweak my RAM / CPU frequency's so i had a proper 1:1 ratio for my FSBRAM (makes it faster ).

So basically........... after paying $220 for a brand new motherboard 3 months ago, i was stuck with an underclocked CPU with shit RAM settings, and forced to use an 8600GT. Yep, i was feeling like shit

yah pc froze at loading XP after i installed the GFX drivers. Re-installed GFX card + drivers atleast 8 times, did about 20 fresh installs of XP.
