Hello guys,
I am currently enrolled at a small technical college in Texas and we are on a Partial T1 line that has been installed. We (the students) have been experiencing very slow download rates and very slow internet surfing. An average download speed would be around 24 kb/s. Most of our school has moved to online classes we have to take tests and stream our lectures over the net. From what i have herd. WoW is causing these problems. There are about 150 people that live on campus. Not everyone has a computer but a partial T1 line that should be sufficient right? So we have about 10 - 20 people play WoW and guildwars could these games be causing this unbelievably slow download rates? What i need to know is how much bandwidth is used for 1 client and what ports WoW uses. This way i can take this up with the administration to get these ports blocked so we can be back to the normal download speeds. I have plenty of supporters for this to take place at my school. BUT i need hard proof that this is what is what is causing these problems. If anyone knows about a program that i can see where the majority of the bandwith is being used in the case that it is not WoW i would appreciate the info. Thanks for your time.
