Greetings to all!
Problem such:
There is a computer, P-4 3.0 ghz 2 gb the RAM from them 1.5 gb is given under centos the rest under windows, the Internet 100 mbit. All works perfectly, without lags. But when there is 10 and more foreheads on-line that there are problems with an input in game, and still I have noticed that at 10 foreheads on-line processor loading almost always 100 percent ! what then resources are necessary to sustain 50 foreheads on-line?or mayby problem in other things ?

Do u have vmware-based server?I think i have same problem.Yesterday i had lagz.I hope it coz server's hdd was too hot.Ps: i give centos 500mb ram. >.<

I think that the computer at least 4 nuclear is necessary, to that-that the simple Pentium 4 with 3.0 ггц does not extend loading! The choice core 2 quad q9550 was ideal but one only the processor costs 1700$. It is interesting what processor costs on an official server.

no-no-no (IMHO).
1. serverside on linux and it need many RAM, not CPU.
2. linux (not KDE or GNOME) need ~ 200-300mhZ and 60-128ram only. Don agree - learn *nix and x86.
I think we have lagz coz some serverfile (i think globalmsg) had error in code.

PS: if u wanna speak russian in icq - pm me... ;)
