Black screen at character create

When I get to the character create screen I only see the create button and the exit button the rest of the screen is black. Thx for any help

u used wrong client when connecting to your server

Are you sure about that, I am using KA120.rar .... The client that is in that one ... and I used to be able to connect just to MysticTech .... now I get the black screen too ...

Ok, I completlt uninstalled KA, and re installed ... re did english patch ... so I think it might be server side for me ...

It was server side for me, I reinstalled the server .. and that did not work ... my machine I run servers on is a pos, and gets errors sometimes .... I re booted my pc ... and problem solved ...

Which client should I use so I can play on my private server. Can you tell me if I have to patch it or not. thx for the help

if u have server no 1.2 it's logical to use client version 1.2
i didn't have such problems with black screen when doing this obvious things
I can bet that u used server v1."5" and client 1.2...

i got the server files from this link. In the svrinfo.ini it says version=121. All the client downloads are all labeled funny. Ive got one named setup and one named projectA3_full_setup. I also have a number of patchs the one I need is 1.20 i suppose, its 200 meg. I also have the english patch with comes with the server files.

wierd... i had such problem when I was connecting with client 1.2 (296mb i think) + english patch to "1.5"server version
I dont think that downloading the client + 200mb patch was good thing
I posted links to client + patch (http://forum.ragezone.com/showthread.php?t=29420)
and there shouldn't be any problems

maybe change the version=120 to 121 in vn.ini in your data folder
