i run on a cable modem and im not sure
how i am suppost 2 setup the ip between windows and centos.
since it doesnt use a router etc.

so no lan

can any1 help with this ?

either you buy a router, or make a host only connection. or you use a vpn solution.

Setting up the ip for a virtual centos isn't a problem it will handle that itself. What you need to remember is that as you don't have a router to forward the ports from windows to centos you need to tell vmware to do it. The guide below should help.

What i mean is since im not behind a router etc.
i only have a static cable ip.
and i dont know how to config centos's ip in the config for it when u first boot it.
other then that i know how 2 forwerd the ports and thanks for the link to it aswell.

You don't need to set up the centos ip addresses. Leave it set to auto (DHCP) and centos will automatically pick up the right address from the vmware DHCP service.
