lthough knowledge improved with age, more than one in ten eight-year-olds did not know pork chops came from pigs, and almost one in five were left scratching their heads over the origins of yoghurt.

Egg
Egg

Welsh rarebit may be a national dish, but one in ten children in the country were clueless about where cheese came from.

One in 50 city youngsters thought eggs came from cows and bacon came from cows or sheep.

Dairy Farmers of Britain, a company owned and run by 2,750 farmers in England and Wales, carried out the survey as part of its educational Grass is Greener campaign.

It asked more than 1,000 children aged eight to 15 where food such as eggs, cheese, yoghurt, bacon, pork chops and beefburgers came from.

'With the Government encouraging healthy eating, it is important children are taught about the way food is produced as well as what it contains,' said Phil Gibson, head of corporate affairs.

That's quite alarming tbh...

Now i can understand that a 8y old kid doesn't know where yoghurt comes from (maybe he doesn't even it it), but cows laying eggs... that's would be an interesting thing to watch xD haven't they thought that eggs would brake from falling from a 1m or so ? :P

Yeah in Europe.

Around the Medieval times, Europe was probably the most 'educate3d' continent in existence. Especially countries like Great Britain, France and Spain.

America...not so much.

I'd say, the order would've went like this:

Europe
Asia
Africa
Australasia
North-
South America
Antarctica

My views anyway.

Wrong, Europe wasn't the most educated place. Continent wise maybe but country wise it was China. By the time people in Europe were fighting with bows and arrows, China had already discovered gun power and were using it to make rockets to aid them in war.
