Client never starts, stuck at splash screen (fixed) L2J

I downloaded someones working system from here and it works just fine now. ;D

Alright, so I got my server all set up and fine. Downloaded the l2 client. I let it update and edited the l2.ini, then tried playing but nothing happened. I restarted, opened l2.exe again, nothing. So I downloaded a patch from a random private l2 server, changed the l2.ini again, ad it said it was not installed properly.

SOOO I uninstalled it, installed it again, but instead of updating, I changed out the l2.ini and tried. Still NOTHING. Updated as much as I could then, then inied, and now it loads the splash screen and freezes. There's no l2.exe process either. It's just the splash screen stuck.

Already tried searching and didn't find anything. So if anyone knows how to fix it, it would be GREATLY appreciated.

Until then I'll try reinstalling again.

Did you try just updating and leaving the ini alone, you may be experiencing the effects of gameguard. You must kill gameguard before you edit the files otherwise gameguard will kill you . Anyways, if you would like your files edited for you just tell me the IP and what you want the name of the system folder to be and i'll make you a lovely little patch file that does everything for you (even put a shortcut on the desktop). *NOTE* - You will need WinRar to run the patch.

How do I kill gameguard? Do I just delete the gg files? D:

And thanks. I THINK I did the ini right, but maybe not. I'm using the IP/address chafedlineage.sytes.net.

As long as that IP points to your current address then it should work just fine, and to kill gameguard just have a look at the post in the Client Tools and Guides gives a description on how to kill it, otherwise it will pop back to life and feast on your dreams.

Tried using a "no game guard" and didn't work. :/

I checked the server, and it's already disabled on the server. But can't figure it out for the client.

i too have this problem so if anyone knows how to solve it pls let us know as my son is soooo desperate to get online ty
