Just got back around to retaking my A+ exam to ensure I'm still on top of my game. Passed Hardware with a 758 and taking Software (OS) next week. Planning to move on to perhaps a Server+,Security+ and Network+ (maybe some CISCO) cert at a point.

Anyways, was just wondering if anyone else in the industry has taken them at any point, maybe get a gauge on average scores.

Congrats man. How would I go about taking this test? lol I'm curious to see how I do in hardware.

You can schedule a exam at any CompTIA certified exam site. But I would be fully prepared as the tests are not free (Prices starting at $200+) While training can cost upwards of $2000 (I got my A+/Networking classes in high school as a vocational course)

But if your still interested you can start here: CompTIA Exams Prices & Registration Information

They should help you find a testing site.

Yeah... about that. Lmao I don't have the kind of money to pay for a test, I'm only 15. :P Anything similar to it you know of that I can take online or some ****? lol

Mmm there are several alternatives that you can do for free (none that will get you certified in anything) but are a good way of testing your knowledge.

Self Test was a good program I used while studying. Hell, there are problems in Self Test that are used on the real exam. (You'll have to find your own way of obtaining it)

Total Tester was also pretty informative. (On your own for obtaining again)

You could also Google around for websites that have online quiz tests.

A+. Cisco, And several others I honestly am too tired to remember... did msot of them through high school years back, need to get back in and retake them though for sure.

They're really quite basic knowledge, the test themselves are less acronym bombardment then prepping for them is.

I in fact have a theory on why there are ten billion computer related acronym's;

All of the acronym's were made so that while servicing a computer, any curious people who feel like asking stupid questions can be scared away with a spewing of acronym's until their too confused to care anymore.
