It is still failing to connect to the DB server. There are lots of reason it could be it isn't a simple "change that and it will work".

I have already offered you MSN support and i don't know what else i can do here as the error is pretty clear and you need to check your connection details.

I use centos 4.6 but it isn't really any different to 4.5 so that is fine. I use mssql 2000 because i have a legit one, but i have used 2005 express for most of my guides and i have a mini test server running with mssql 2005 too and it works without problems.

Open a terminal on centos and type the following:

ping <windows ip>

See if you get any responses. Use ctrl+c to stop the ping.

telnet <windows ip> 1433

You should see "Connected to blah". Use ctrl+] and then type "quit" to exit telnet.

The first test will tell me if centos can see the DB server ok and the second one will tell me if centos can actually connect to the mssql service.

If you don't mind, just re-install your SQL and use "sa" for your DB username
and install your SQL into mix-mode and then put a password and that is your
DB password try it....or you can make a new login like cabal and as what we have
seen on the video tutorial...for your error i know there is a conflict with dbusername
and dbpass either of the 2 which you miss up, and if it is correct, so all the function
like SQL setting you miss try to review your work....be a wise
