Drive tray problem....

I bought a new dvd burner and it is the only drive i have in. For some reason the drive tray keeps opening by itself. Im sure i plugged in the cables completely and it is the master drive as was the old one. im out of ideas any help would be appreciated.

is the tray button rubbing against anything?
And does it do it randomly or does it do it when you start or do something?

Check the jumpers. I remember once I put two jumpers on a drive by accident because I wasn't looking properly and both the jumper and the drive were black. Caused it to keep opening I believe.

i figured it out.. the burner has an interchangeable faceplate and i changed it but didnt snap down one of the corners so it was blocking it lol. im a dumbass.
