Too much, but I don't care.
I modeled it, and if it looks familiar, I used Aimed's unfinished projects.

NOTICE : The gun in the pictures isn't the same as the one you are (maybe) going to add to your server. I have formatted my computer due to virusses and lost all my files. I was too lazy to redo it with everything blablabla.

under specials (hotkey w) there is bevel. Apply a small amount of beveling and you should be fine

Lastly remember do not use the "Unwrap via View" or whatever its called... this is meant for tests in my opinion, use the smart unwrap if you are using blender as your unwrapping program. Yes this means you have an annoying amount of time spent finding where the faces are located, but in the end it is worth it.

Yeah but keep it under 3000.

You stolezor my statistics >:D

Use the JPG file. GunZ is compatible with that. ._.

@Betrayed, Beveling fux up my weapon. D:

you have to do it very minutely (like 1.001). I use the extrude and scale method myself, i wish i could show you on here, but it would be hard to explain

Do not use JPG, but rather PNG or TGA, due to the fact that they have alpha channels.Photoshop always fcks up my dds files, so i prefer TGA/PNG anyways.

(Honestly TGA [Targa] is the best due to it being able to be compressed)

Using 1.001 still fux it up. Thanks for the tip about the texture format. You're like my sensei (hope I spelled it right). Lol, thanks.

If you have time, can you show me how to use the extrude-scale method? I tried it on my own, still looks like cardboard.

well as of now my video card is killed, im on this computer that has like 512 mb of ram and a 128 mb video card (aka i would die), but if you wait till saturday (hopefully) my parts from newegg to fix my computer will be in xD. Then i will just make a tutorial for all, along with some of my other techniques that will help reduce polly count, and highten ingame performance

Is this a joke?

Model vertice count shouldn't ever go over 500 imo.

sir with directx9 3000 faces (not vertz) per ingame unit is still perfectly fine. Honestly most models for Gunz that i see today are under modeled (aka railings, special grips, etc), seeing that alot of the object is actually just texture, or it is poorly modeled, and has way to many pollyz for Gunz to handle. There are very few over modeled objects that i have seen (only 1 actually)

Your and iced method may only contain 500 vertz, but physically 3000 faces is still fine

Texture the top and bottoms correctly since you probably only have a side view texture... Make one or the gun will continute to look weird. After that is all good.

3000 face models drop my in-game fps to 30s. Have you ever played in 30 fps?

If you haven't noticed, the GunZ community don't have high-end rigs with amazing graphics cards. GunZ models from maiet are low poly themselves, so keep GunZ a low-poly game.
