[Emulates] 2.3.x Server Repack with Database and Map Extractor

Before I start.. The people at Ascent accuse Emulates of stealing their code.. thats the biggest lie you will hear.. They are so arrogant they believe their the only people on the planet capable of creating a good emulator.. Similar configs is not justification to say someone stole code..

Ok.. heres a little Tutorial for how to get this going.. its all pretty simple. Ive set the configs up so if you enter the ENTER YOUR BLANK info in the places ive specified there should be NO PROBLEM getting the server live.

Things to do before starting.. go to

and get your public ip address.
Have .NET 2.0


1st.. Extract

2nd Get a program like navicat or sqlyog to import the database. (if you dont know this lol running a server might not be in your future lol)

3rd. Create a database with a name of your liking..

4th. Open the emulates.conf and enter your database information.. its pretty self explanatory. Where it says YOUR DATABASE NAME. YOUR USERNAME, YOUR PASSWORD.. all pretty easy..

5th Look through the configs and the places it says YOUR PUBLIC IP.. enter accordingly

6th Set any optional values you require. including Voice Chat settings if you run a Teamspeak

7th SAVE.

8th.. Enter the realms.conf enter ip address as it requests. where it says YOUR PUBLIC IP.. also a realm name.. and save.

9th.. Open the logonserver.conf Fill Accordingly

<LogonDatabase Hostname = "YOUR PUBLIC IP"
               Username = "YOUR DATABASE USERNAME"
               Password = "YOUR DATABASE PASSWORD"
               Name     = "YOUR DATABASE NAME"
               Port     = "3306"
               Type     = "1">

10th. Put the map extractor AD.exe program in your wow 2.3.x game folder.. run extract maps.. then move the new MAPS folder to your emulates folder

11th. if you entered your data in correctly start the server witht he EmulatesGUI click on GUI at the top.. and click on Start Restarter.


All should be well..

different emulator lol.. i care about Mafiaboys repack lol... considering the application was designed arround a PSM database lol.. how bout we just put that db in it and it be a BETTER EMULATOR with that db lol nubsorex..

I also would like to know if it is open source ?

This is indd ascent look at the conf file only its pure ascent dont say its your OWN stuff becose it is not . The only thing i can say is LAMERS .

not give any credits to ascent . you forgot to remove the die msg discript in the config that only gives away that this is ascent .

All you did was rename stuff. If you're gonna make your own emulator change it up a bit.

If I recall emulates was based off ascent, not a totally different emulator (to say other-wise would be false) There's really no way to hide the fact that it has some ascent coding in it, tho If memory serves, it was suppose to be an over-all improvement on the ascent core (different devs, different core ect a new direction).

Give credit where it's needed else the community will just shut you out, happens all the time.
