Error restoring database and running client on same machine Mir2

Hi,

ive downloaded all the Stuff DB200 and so on.

When it comes to restoring the database i get an error message saying the Physical adress of the file may be incorrect and i should try the "MOVE WITH" thing or something.. i have noe freaking clue what this means...

I cant restore the Database. Any help appreciated.

Another question: Is it possible to run the client on the same Machine as the server? At the moment i only have one PC and want to ry out some Stuff in mir.

yeah if u set all ur ip to 127.0.0.1 itll run on same as host BUT will laggggg like mad

If you are using the latest updated server files and are only using ONE db in mssql, try restoring to mir2backup.

OK,

after some testing here and testing there:juggle: i got the Database restored...

As i am german my Windows does not automatically have the folder C:\program files. In ther german versions of Prgrams its called C:\Programme

And exactly that is where the mistake is.

I deleted MSSQL and reinstalled it to C:\program files and now it worked...well on my office PC here at work..lol going to do this at home later :-D


Ill let you know if i have any problems setting up the server..

Btw: In some Files im not sure which IPs i have to change.. As there are quite a lot lines...

Could someone help me to change all the files to the correct ones if i want them to run on a LOCAL machine only?!

had the MapQuest.txt file problem aswell but got this sorted...

the script file not found error,, either remove the reference to them to merchants in the tbl_merchant, or set the to not load,, change the 1 to a 0 in fldload, or somebody somewhere a while ago posted them scripts i think, or (too many ors) they are included in one of the folders in the downloads,, search the files got GA1 or GA2, the ip's should all be 127.0.0.1 for local use,, i think they already come set at that, although i think there is one set @ 192.168.0.* just search the main server folder for 192.168 and change them to 127.0.0.1

I get so far that i can start the mir2.exe and get to the screen where i have to log in...


But how?

I cant make an Account by clicking on "NEW".. Although i can fill out the form with all the Data it wont work to log in.

It just NOTHING happens when i enter something into the ID and PW field and then press OK. just the ID and PW disappear.. nothing more..

Plz help me to get this running.,..lol

all the exe's should be dated 30/07/07 (including rungate), the m2server.exe is dated 23/08/07, the dbserver.exe is 08/08/07 and the mir2.exe is dated 23/08/07, can you post a screenie with all your gares/exe's running

OK..here the screenie

As said i get to the loginscreen but then have no clue what to do. if i click on "NEW" Character, a window opens where i can put all the infos into (PW ID and so on) but back at the loginscreen the login doesnt work. The entered ID and Password just disappear and nothing happens after i klick on OK

checked it... i definately double clicked RUNGATE... but when this starts in the box it says Gamegate...

that wrong?!

no its not it's called GameGate at the top but its rungate, you may have the same problem I had, make sure the mir2.exe and the other exe's are correct.

I used the server exe''s from the TD's update and the mir2.exe from ragezone same with the ini's.
