What do you think will happen to emulator development after the issue with Phoenix/Aaron and the new technical updates in Habbo?

Me, personally, i have no idea, since a few people i know got letters sent personally to them via Sulake from Finland etc, asking for their websites to be shut down and not to take part.
Really though, i think we have a fair few months until maybe it's time to stop developing.

I think it will continue as usual. Just because Sojobo screwed it up doesn't mean that other people will screw it up too.
Referring to my signature. :D

He never really screwed anything up? Sulake are coming down hard now, and I think they're going to continue.

OT: I think people will keep developing emulators but everyone seems to making their own now.

Mjae, he could've very, very easily get away with it.

Correct me if i'm wrong but as a i can know the emulation is not ilegal, if you make a free emulator for something, you can say that is for your own learning and you aren't risponsable of the misuse that the people can make with it (ex: private server of Habbo Hotel).

Sulake and his legal terms is not the problem, if someone wants to develope a free Habbo emulator is free to do it, the problem is always the amount of people who are interesting in make something new. After of this, i think the question can be changed by: "Future of the private hotels?" or "Future of NEW emulators?"

Personally, I think this will "separate the boys from the men", so to speak. Survival of the fittest, if you can't develop without help from resource sites, Phoenix, Otaku, DCR-Project, etc; your hotel won't last. However, if you can develop without help from resource sites, you'll be fine so long as you stay out of Habbo's radar. The end of retros may or may not happen, but it hasn't happened yet, so just keep pushing forward. I don't think Sulake has much fight left in them as far as taking down retros and stuff, for now.

Correction: Everyone seems to be making renames. Over 75% of the Emulators are Uber Edits or edits of Uber Edits..
I've been saying the same thing for so long. I think this will really stop all the stupid edits that keep getting released. Just because you change the name from UberEMU to ShitEMU does not make it yours.

Not gonna rehash Dom's great posts about how you're breaking the EULA you agreed to when you signed up to habbo not to reverse engineer, the emulators are useless without Sulake's explicit property - the client.
