Calling out to all the shady types!

Just now I tried modding the WoW binary to change the news in the panel that appears on the right.
Basically, I found a URL with some octet stream. Once I opened said URL it turned out to be an HTML file that said error, bad request etc. etc.
So I changed that to my own server and once I opened the client again... Nothing.
The URL wasn't even accessed.
So now I'm out of ideas and was hoping that maybe someone else is interested in poking this. Cooperation FTW etc.

In the coders paradise we're not familiar with WoW coding...could you post the related code?

It's not coding, it's more of... How should I put it...
-editing- the existent WoW.exe to change the stream (or whatever it uses) for the news panel.

If it's an html/htm file that it access you should be able to see it unless the launcher has some sort of sign to tell the server that it is a launcher and not a browser =/

I would try changing the html file and then seeing if the launcher changes too.

Try reading my post.
The only HTTP stream found was the octet and it was useless.
