According to a story from the Middletown Journal(via 1up), during an online conversation with a Blizzard representative an Ohio teen said, "he was suicidal and that the game is the only thing he has to live for." See why he pulled such a stunt by reading the account from the local newspaper, The Middletown Journal:

A 17-year-old Fairfield Twp. teen pretended to be suicidal when he became frustrated with an online video game, Fairfield Twp. police reported..
According to officials, the teen was arrested Monday, Dec. 29, for inducing panic after patrol officers and medics responded to the boy's home in the 3000 block of Pimlico Court. The charge is a first-degree misdemeanor.
The teen was having an online conversation with a representative of Blizzard Entertainment, an online video game company, when he typed that "he was suicidal and that the game is the only thing he has to live for," according to the report.
The company representative called 911.
The juvenile told police it was a joke "to try to get what he wanted for the game," according to the report. He was then handcuffed and placed in a patrol car. The boy was released to his father.
The boy is scheduled to appear in Butler County Juvenile court on Tuesday, Jan. 6.

What WoW gear or event or whatever would be worth threatening suicide over? Whether suicidal or not, let's hope the young man has someone to talk things through with, he just chose the wrong way to show his love to WoW. Attempting to blackmail a game company by making suicidal claims is nothing to laugh about. With the intensity many WoW players put in their game, it's important to take a step back and keep things in perspective.

There was an issue a while back where a few players threatened to kill themselves over general chat and it was the first (and one of the only) times that a Game Master was seen in-game too.

On topic of the thread though many ridiculous people seem to make some sort of news page when it comes to WoW. I've read so many pathetic stories, granted none about Suicide & the blackmail of Blizzard Entertainment but there always "extream".
