So I had to switch to my pc because phone updated the site and ruined my magnificent Wall'O Text.
I might as well start as where I began last time and also I'm not after the prizes, I just wanna tell my story, because nostalgia.
Around the year when Tbc wow was out on retail, along with its private server counterpart. I had gotten the curiosity of hosting myself after a never ending cycle of dailies and pvp on retail.
Along with my buddy from the first (private) wow server I joined before I started played retail, we managed to get a small cozy team of people to manage it as well as a small cozy few people playing.
Basically we had plans for the server, one of them was to expand the game and make it a little different (not funserver, thank god for that). We started to fill out the ironforge airport and emerald dream (vendors, objects, buildings, etc). We've had done some work on the server, especially being new to the serverhosting scene, we had to learn a lot with sql and how to make items or even fix bugs, etc.
That is untill we had to update, all progress was lost along with accounts and other vital things. Stupidly I had used arcemu, which I thought was one of the most blizzlike servers back in the day along with ascent. But we all know mangos was the way to go. However, trinity was the winner in my eyes, but she wanted to much power, power my computer didn't have at that time.
I remember being such a lazy newbie that I used repacks, 3 times. This of course coming to the realization that I had to compile, which brings me to how I ended up on this site along with MMOchampions. I'm pretty sure I learned a lot about compiling and setting up the server here back in the day thanks to Ragezone, I'm also sure I learned how to set up apache and all that as well in which is a skill I used later in life not related to wow servers of course
.
I do long for the old days though, even though the server didn't last long we actually worked together to build a small loyal community.
So for that, thank you for bringing back some good old memories, Tbc might've been a hard knock life but hell we still got Blood Elves.
