Okay, if your thinking of this as to be.

Google takes your stuff and modifies it and then sells it to the public such as a game if you was making one. Thats wrong.

When they say

you grant Google a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to reproduce, adapt, modify, publish and distribute such Content on Google services for the purpose of displaying, distributing and promoting Google services.

They simply say, they can modify your work by promoting things to improve Google services. *cough* i bring you Google Adverts *cough*

I think that just applies to the Google Services like Orkut, Gtalk, Pages, Documents and etc as mentioned. Quite a few loopholes in it if you sit down and think.
