Does a 8800 GT really beat a 8800 GTS 640mb?
If so why??

1. Newer core, the 8800GT has the G92 core, the 8800GTS 640 has the G80.
2. Shader Processors, 8800GT has 112, 8800GTS 640 has 96.
3. 8800GT has higher clock speeds.

But the 8800 GTS has faster memory

Memory really doesn't affect game speed that much these days, which is why people still buy DDR2 memory cards over DDR3 or RD.

Nvidia has confused me, well did do.
As a 8600 GTS is better then a 8600 GT, but 8800 GT beats a 8800 GTS.
Well am glad the 9000 series isnt as bad.
TBH they shud have called the 8800 GT a 8900 GT and the 8800 GTS 512 a 8900 GTS, that way you no for sure with out looking at the spec 8800 (8900) GT wud be better.

its not your fault nvidia suck at naming their products, but they realised this hence the newest series being 260/280

GTX 200 series FTW!! Kicks out some pwnage.
I like the 9800 GX2 though as well, someone compared a 9800 GTX to a 9800 GX2 and there was a difference not in FPS but the card itself is better quality.
