Client Files

Ok i am makeing this thread because i am sick of all the people asking for help on this subject. first you need the flyff client files you can find here,
_____
v11
_____

_____
v12
_____
After downloading one of the clients run the Flyff Installer.exe a window should popup asking if you want toinstall flyff. Go through the prompts untill the last part it will have a check box and say Run Flyff
UNCHECK THIS OR IT WONT WORK.
Blackbox says: or you can Update fully to eFlyff's version 13, and then just fix your res files
note: remember where you installed your flyff client to you will need this information later.

Downloading and setingup MySql & Navicat

First you need to download mysql at this link i recomend downloading the MySQL Community Server because its free and very useful.
When installing MySql it will ask you Typical, Compleat, or Custom, Pick Compleat then hit install.
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

When you are done you will need to install Navicat, , on the right side you will see Navicat for MySql. For Me, i downloaded The Non-commercial (Free) - Lite version, once again because its free and has almost the same features.

Configureing Navicat

When configureing Navicat make shure your port is 3306(default) then make a localhost connection. i seguest that if you make a password to your localhost connection that you make it short... about four digits it will help when configureing a website and your server. After your MySql and Navicat are finnished installing you should search on google for a good MySql Database for you lazy people who cant type Flyff Sql Database into google >.<. When you get the database open up Navicat then open your localhost connection make a new database called flyff, right click it and Hit Run batch file and locate your database file you downloaded. when this is done you cna procead to the final step.

Final Steps

Finally, you need to open your client folder and extract your server files into it. there should be 3 servers World Server, Character Server, and the Login Server. look for all the .ini files when you open your world server.ini you need to edit the ip (127.0.0.1) and your mysql location(neer the bottom) the world server is also where you change the message of the day (motd) and rates. In the login server and character server you have to change the ip and mysql server location. when your done click the servers in order 1 2 3... you should be able to remember that lol.

New:Website

Makeing a website is pritty easy, this guide will show you how to edit a template and host it with port forwarding. Note: you can also do this with your server, i will make a guide for that later.
You will need :
- because it helps alot
A brain
Paitence
First, go to the And find your router. i use WRT54G (Linksys). You can find your model id on the router box.
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

When you click on it find what you want to port forward (HTTP)
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

now connect up to your router, By default the ip address should be set to 192.168.1.1. your username and password should be admin unless you changed it. when your signed in go to the security tab and make it look like this:

Configureing your Firewall

First, open up your control panel (Start > Control Panel)
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

under security you see"Allow a Program Through Windows Firewall", Click it, you should get a little popup like this and you want to click add port...:
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

You will need to do this next step twice, Once for UDP and once for TCP
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

Makeing a Web Name On DYNDNS

After your done port forwarding test your connection.
How to:
Get your ip and type it into the url bar if that dosnt work use this check your port 80. if your port is open it should say "Port 80 is open on (your ip)" if it says "Port 80 is closed on (your ip)" then you did somthing wrong. if you have further questions please contact me.
If your connection works then it is ok to move on.
What you will need:
-Duh
Ports forwarded
----------------
First go to When your there it should look like this, Type your website name in the example box
killerdog - [Guide] How To Make A Private Server - RaGEZONE Forums

You don't have to worry about that :P

Hey I got one little question.. I see cant find the .ini files you're talking about? And where do I edit em

Run the game client on the official server first and the client will make it for you.

It seems as though I cannot locate the .ini file(s). I've looked in all the folders, looked in all the server folders, and all I've seemed to have found was .res files and .XML files. Any suggestions?

~gasp~ im back ... you can find the .ini files in the flyff folder They should be named Character Server.ini, Login Server.ini, and World Server.ini. if you still cant find them try useing the search function in your folder

Hope this helps,
Killer~

Could you give a bit more information on how to start the server using navicat and mysql

Thanks <:

I found a spelling error. Where it says "fun" the flyff installer or something lol at the top.

I'm using this guide to make my own server :]

Thanks for the guide!

I also have a very noobie question....sorry...

How do i configure navicat and mysql? im pretty sure i got the configuring for navicat done, but im just asking just incase because when i try to connect, it would say.
Cannot connect to Mysql localhost or it would say access denied for localhost using password:YES
