Hamachi alternate for private network?

hello, i got a server on my computer and just to play with some friends on it.
im absolutely noob in port forwarding etc and have no idea how to do it

so i installed hamachi on linux and it works. but not on windows then because my network adapter on win7 show virtualbox and got no internet connection on windows via hamachi, so people can only connect to server but not to database.. so maybe someone knows a solution or a working method to make a small local network for friends?

for what? database doesn't needed to be accessible from outside.

I already try this one but my friend need to install hamachi too to connect to the server to sync the network
