Hamachi on CABAL private server (using Router)

im having a problem using hamachi on my server and i searched the forums for help and yes ive seen every thread on hamachi... i know i know hamachi sucks to some people but i this is the only way i can play with my friends without letting in other people . . . kind of selfish i know but here is the list of things ive done..

1. Installed HAMACHI-0.9.9.9-20-lnx on CentOS-5.

2. Created A server for CABAL

3. Changed IP's in WorldSvr_24_01 . LoginSvr_01

4. Tried to Connect but Failed. is there any way to Connect? and uhmm im using Vista and Cypher said that i shouldnt install Hamachi on Vista.. so is there anyone there that can help me?

Vista's security is probably the reason for the ping failures but i have not got Vista to test with.

I need more detail here to be able to help you, either some server logs or some much more specific info on what commands you used to configure hamachi. Both would be best just so i know hamachi is running right as you missed a big chunk of the install from your description

well.. here's the thing.. unlike you guys i dont have a backround in making servers.. this is my first one.. and uhmm im just happy i made it work ^^ anyways... here's what i did..

i followed the instruction on how to install it on CentOS.. (im using the mahi guide, so its CentOS 5.1) i Dont KnoW if its compatible or not..

i uSed hamachi-0.9.9.9-20-lnx

whenever i "ping" my CentOS IP it pings Successfully but if i use the HAMACHI CentOS IP it doesnt PING... thats it.. but whenever i see someone connect it connects.. why is that?

Openvnc was another solution i looked at and i found it much harder to set up which is why i went for Hamachi.

Still, i may have another solution for the router problem which i will be testing later this week. Hopefully it will get rid of Hamachi altogether.

thanks Chumpy Can u give me details on how to set up with open VPN or VNC ... coz i really cant figure it out.. i tried once and my friend did it for me.. but now he's not around to help me and i can get open vpn to install in CentOS 5.1 ... T_T just want to get my Server online...
