I'm just wondering out of curiosity who has every thought about becoming either of the three. Let me tell you the reasoning behind this question.

Last week President Barack Obama spoke at George Town University (in Washing D.C). I went with a program to Washington D.C from April 12 - April 18. That week we stopped at George Town University; having absolutely no idea that Barack Obama had just spoken there an hour before we had arrived. So we went up on the second floor of the building he was speaking at and the crew was dismantling all of the lights and stands they had on the stage.

One of his CIA Special Agents was still on the stage helping out and our chaperon had went up to the guy and asked him if he was a Special Agent. He said yes, but he couldn't disclose any personal/confidential information (his name, and all that stuff). So I began to ask him questions - such as his training, how hard was it. Is being a CIA an adventurous job. Was it his first and foremost decision in what he wanted to be in life, etc etc. He answered the questions adiquitly and professionally.

He told my group and I, that anyone can become a CIA Agent and there are different divisions of the team, such as Forensic Science, and being a Special Agent, etc. He told us that to become a Special Agent and to protect the president you must have a 4 year graduate degree (in anything such as pre-law, pre-med sociaology, etc). He also said in order to become a CIA Special Agent they must back-track your life (where you've moved, what kind of person you are, etc), and you also have to take a polygraph test.. because of course you are concealing a weapon around the President.

So that made me think about what I wanted to be in life. I really want to go to college (specially I am interested in the University of Pittsburgh. Initially I wanted to take get my under-grad, and go into Medical School (which is a 4 year process) and I wanted to become an anesthesiologist, which would be about 9 years in college. Once I pursue that degree in Pre-Med; if I don't want to persue that career in anesthesiology, I wanted to become a CIA Special Agent to protect the president. Because by then I would have been to college for 9 years and I would have my medical certificate!

-- A fact that I learned from the CIA Special Agent -- when every the president flies somewhere (around the country or anywhere in the US) they put his Limo on an airplane and fly it to his destination. He didn't tell us why.. I didn't bother to ask because he would of probably said he couldn't disclose that information...

Anyways, have any of you ever wanted or thought to become an FBI, CIA, or NCIS special agent?:?:

Well for sure they earn more than what I earn...

For my asian allowance. ._.

YAY 25 CENTS WHEN I PUSH A CART AROUND IN A SUPERMARKET!

Yep, I make moneh from deposits

i can't seen to find the old old old old old old old old old old thread that i posted this in (

), google and search function has failed me...

how much do they earn per year?

Depends on your level. To enter a 3 letter agency you must be level 9 which earns you about $56k a year.

I personally have no interest at all in joining a 3 letter agency. I actually had an offer from the NSA and turned it down. Being a federal agent is just not appealing to me. If I want to work for the federal government then it's going to be through the military.

That's interesting that you must say that DaCheat, because my cousin was telling me that his friend was a really good hacker and hacked into some major company. I guess he was going to get arrested, and during that 'process' so to speak, the cia or fbi (i can't remember which one exactly..) offered him a job. He took the job though to get out of jail.

Funny how the gov't works, eh?

Fuck yeah, who wouldn't want to be james bond

MI6 your thinking of there. And growing up I wanted to be in the FBI, spending most of my childhood watching The X-Files (I still do now) haha :P; though being British I doubt I'd be given a second look!
I'm thinking about trying to go into the intelligence side of MI6 when I'm older, but have no idea what it's like, so who knows. If I do want to though they do Internation Politics & Intelligence studies in a university near me and it's one of the only places in Britain that do it. I've thought about it quite a bit but I seriously have no idea what they do in MI6.

My cousin was offered a job by the C.I.A.

They only noticed him because he failed out of college, and he is very good at hacking. He turned them down and started his own business. He makes three times as much as he would have working for them.

I wouldn't have turned it down. Why not have a life filled with adventure? Money isn't everything. Living happily and dying young sounds much more satisfying than just trying to survive and keeping your neck above water all of the time.

It's not all that adventorous as it might seem like in movies :P Especially not as a hacker.

In my opinion it would be quite good working for the government (government workers in the UK get a rather good pension, don't know about the US) in a Special Branch. Yeah it wouldn't be like what it's glorified to be in the movies, but the FBI/CIA etc do more to protect the people (and decieve them at the same time).

The reason why I am going for government jobs is for the benefits. Full medical and an amazing pension. After 20 years you can retire with a pension equivalent to about 80% of your pay and full medical. You can't really argue that at all. Better then working 40-50 years and not getting nearly as much.

I only work for the government (military) cause I'm broke and needed job. Oorah!

Economy in the US blows donkey dick, join the military. You'll always paid.

Until President Obama decides to downgrade the military and then y'all get discharges. That's the worst thing about the democrats.

Though for the most part, the military is a for sure pay check.

I've always thought about becoming something to do with guns, fighting, military.
Although, i'd not be able become an FBI/CIA/NCIS agent since im not an american citizen.
The police force over in England don't carry guns.

Really? No guns? I guess my eyes were wrong when I saw police in Manchester airport with MP5s and M249s (this one really impressed me), or dozens of cops at LHR with MP5s, or all the police in front of Buckingham Palace with MP5s. Yeah... I guess fully automatic sub-machine guns and light machine guns are not guns...

NoPeace - out
