Until rev 81. For the past year now all I have heard from the osrose community which I may add is supposed to be an open source community is how great rev 81 is supposed to be,,,Don't get me wrong I think it is great on what you all are tring to do but hey it is getting to look like to me all you have done is release rev 1 to 80 to get everyones input and suggestions and then when you finally came up with a good working version you decided not to release it.
Sorry if I am wrong or that is not the case but hey it has been over a year now and I do know a few people that have been running rev. 81 for a year or longer now.
I don't really know the whole story behind why rev 81 is taking such a long time to release.
I do have access to the code and i can tell you that it is constantly changing.
It's not like rev 81 is a static thing. There have been more than 170 dev revs of it released in the last year.
One of the main reasons though is that there is a major change of direction with the way the communications are handled. the packet structure is different in many places.
When you all finally get to upgrade to 81 you will also need to use a different client architecture.
Rev 81 connects directly with the newer versions of NA Rose so you will no longer have to (or be able to) add trose patches to be able to connect.
To my knowledge there are no public servers running with rev 81 code. It is only available for testing to a small number of devs and testers at osrose.
the current state of the project is that it is mostly completed and ready to release. The last finishing touches are now being added to skills code. Once that is finished up, it will most likely be released as rev 81.
Rev 82 is already in the planning stages too. It will include direct AIP handling (already partially implemented in osirose and osprose)
Sorry for the delay guys.
