wich files did you use?

There should be a default admin account in the files.

Login with the account and go to administrator.

Experiment a bit with adminCP, it shouldnt be hard to do.

Well if he uses any of those programs that you need to install on your computer and get throught there connection it is a little bit more complicater. I have files that install your server on your host so you can have then no problem with that admin thing.

Could you just not register an account and make it admin via the database?

If you logged onto the database, went to the 'Users' table, click the edit button.
There will be a field saying "AuthLevel" or "Auth" or "Rank" (Something along those lines) and if you put the number 3 it normally makes the player an admin..
