Hi everyone,

I am using Lucianoaibar server beta 39. Setting up a LAN server server is OK for me. But I want to setup a WAN server. I have a DynDNS address: h3ll.selfip.org
If someone successfully creates a WAN server with Luciano server files, can you share experience to me, where should I change the IP to
h3ll.selfip.org, where should I keep 127.0.0.1; anh also the IP in file startup.ini of MUServerStartup?

Thanks in advance.

Your IP is too long. take 1 character off of it and you'll be good. Server IP can only be 13 characters or less.
Don't change any of the 127.0.0.1 IP's, leave them.

Just change the rwm.zapto.org to your new IP in my attached startup file.

Ok first of all Before anything you must configure your host so you can use wan + lan.

Go to C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc

Open hosts in notepad
Write this line at the bottom

127.0.0.1 h3ll.selfip.org

Replace 127.0.0.1 for your Local Ip or lan ip.

Save and close, Now you must edit, EVERYTHING with h3ll.selfip.org in your ServerFiles, EXCEPT Commonserver.cfg you must leave all the ips as 127.0.0.1 or your Local / Lan ip.

Now configure your client to connect to h3ll.selfip.org

This works 100% I use it for my server and I can connect while wan users can connect.

p.s If you want to play from another networked computer you must configure the hosts file of that computer exactly like the one on the server computer.

Hes stil gotta configure the hosts address, unless he has a pass through router.

Its safer just to edit it or He might get problems with connecting, because he needs Wan + lan probably withought loop back

Thank you for the solution from both of you. I think both are right, I will try all ^^.

To wingsofhell:

"Replace 127.0.0.1 for your Local Ip or lan ip." I think the local IP is always 127.0.0.1, isn't it? Or I 'm wrong?

Thanks so much!

In luciano files, DO NOT replace 127.0.0.1, there are only like 3 IPs to change in luciano files.

Hi Lakai, did you success of creating WAN on Luciano server?
I did as both of you said but I still get disconnected from the server. Bad luck for me.

I am trying all the ways I can do. ^^

After some tries, I can connect to the server. However, there is no NPCs or Monsters in all maps. Any solution for this, man?

Thanks.

I run my server on a no-ip address lol.
Check that you have no errors when loading Gamjeserver, like errors involving monsters. Also check to make sure you got a MonsterSetBase =P
I ran into no problems at all setting up luciano files, they're by far the easiest to setup.

Yeah, I also switch to use a no-ip address. I've checked the MonsterSetBase and it's OK. Don't know reason why there is no NPCs and monsters T_T. I need to investigate more on this stuff, thank you for your concerning. If you know any super little reason, please tell me ^^.

Sorry for my English.
