I cannot run the configuration for MySQL, every time I do, the following error pops up:

Code:
C:\program Files\MySQL Sever 5.0\bin\MySQL Instance Config.exe

The application has failed to start because its side-by-side
configuration is incorrect. Please see the application event
log for more details.

I did previously have MySQL installed, but it has been deleted in its entirety due to an issue that came up with it. I've been trying a couple days now to get my server running, and although it was at a point where i could log on but no mobs loaded, I now seem to be further back than when i started. At least when i had started, I could install my files.

Well i sugged you to use Amber, they got there own installer and then your done with install you can start up full website and full mysql database from there control panel :-)

And your allways able to update amber for the amber team release there scripts every pacth and sometimes just for fixes - i have tested amber for 5 days now in allmost all instances and i have seen like 90% of all of it work like normal ( retail ) in thouse 100-300 privat servers i have played on then amber is the most scripted and best release ever ^_^

Yes, that may be so. However, that doesn't solve my problem. i need to be able to remove the Process MySQL so that i can reinstall. As it is, my pc has convinced itself I'm trying to run 2 MySQL processes.

*i need to be able to remove the Process MySQL so that i can reinstall*
Ctrl+alt+delete

and then go to progress and then shut down the progress you got up :-)

Tut Tut.

I assume you need to stop all mysql functions?

Start -> Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> Services

Scroll down to MySQL -> Right click -> All Tasks -> Stop

To remove:

Start -> Control Panel -> Add or Remove programs (on previous version of windows) On server 2008 and vista the option is Programs and Features. -> MySQL Server 5.1 (or your version) -> Uninstall.

Yes, need to remove the process. But i've used add/remove programs and the process still exists, just won't run. I'll try it again anyway though.

Okay, I've made a mistake :/ It's not a process, rather, its a service. Miscommunication on my part and i apologize. A process I can deal with Services i haven't got a clue except to stop them.

This has been resolved by ignoring the existing service completely and installing a newer version of MySQL. The problem is still there, but its been bypassed. Thanks to all who tried to help :p
