i cant manage to login to WinSCP because i dont know where i can see my CENTOS IP. sorry for this noob question. please help guys.. thanks in advanced

okies thanks man hehe im still on the edge of your tuts :) about pserver may be after about days ill present our work to all :)

thanks for the vid guide :) hehe it helps alot altho some prob we have encountered like
we cant install CentoS 4.7 because the installer compressed with winrar and it was divided into 4 parts
we have tried changing it into ISO img so it will run in the Centos installation but wer failed we got some error me like centos cash someting so we just have to find some Centos Installer 4.5 or 5.1 may be
got any advice for us chumpy? we will appreciate it :)

Centos 4.7 CD or DVD images can be got for free from centos.org. All are direct links and are reasonably fast.

When installing to vmware and you set up your vm make sure you pick the latest "red hat" kernel setting it has. Centos 4.7 need about 3 ~ 3.5GB minimum for a virtual hard disk.

Also remember that vmware server is free and workstation is not. Go for vmware server 1.7 as 2.0 is very different. Serials for vmware server are free but you do have to request them on the download page at the top.

where can i find this root@localhost:var/lag/cabal/ ?? sorry because it is so very different from making ran server. help me please mr moderator. thanks

i find the terminal in centos and the i type su - root then my password then the bash prompt appear.. and then i type ifconfig and the list of my IP appears. So now i found what my CENTOS IP is but my next problem is when i start and input my centos IP in winSCP it says that :

i think our problem is on the bridge connection or we miss an important settings when we are installing centos.. i install/uninstall my centos for the 3rd time but still i got the same error. :(

but i untick the "firewall on" setting when i am installing the centos 4.5. what must i do now sir? really need your help.. thanks


EDIT: i can ping my CENTOS IP in terminal.. does it mean that i have an internet connection in centos?? btw, do i have to use my IP in hamachi when the centos ask for an IP? i am using a modem, not a modem/router..

everytime i try to login in winscp it always says that network error: connection timeout.. what does it mean?

i really need your help guys.. i search and download all the movie guides here and i read almost all the post here but i cant see the solution on my problem.. really need help guys please.. sorry for bumping

thanks for the reply. i think my connection on my virtual centos is set to NAT because i see it when i view the setting while i am installing the centos.. ill try to search until i figure out how to solve my problem and post it here after im done.. thanks for the help guys..
