The past year has been pretty devastating to Sulake. The pedo incident, the investors pulling away, the business losing profits, and their CEO leaving.

I don't think their profits will become stable without someone stepping in and really overhauling everything. The UI is in disarray, the users started pouring into retros after Habbo implemented "safety" features, and I just can't say that Sulake knows where they're going as a company. Someone with HABBO experience needs to start the year off with a good step. We all know it's dying slowly but we really need to think about what Habbo needs. A more "retro" approach towards staff and events, perhaps? Maybe they need a good investor. Thoughts?

Nothing. Get real. It's 2013, there's greater things than a virtual world. Back in early days of Habbo the technology was exciting, now it's 2013 and we have mobile phones will millions to billions of applications which can do multiple functions, more than so what most of these virtual worlds can do which limit you to PCs.

*Please note this post relates to the virtual world of Habbo only, don't start comparing newer games/technologies.

Personally I feel like there's a lack of innovation behind Habbo now. They could do so much more and learn from other companies. How the client is right now should've been done in somewhere like early/mid 2009. Only now the client is somewhat 'modern'. When the BETA was out in 2009 it felt like something from 2004-2006. They're behind. I honestly genuinely think that part of the company's failure was failing to listen to its users and to give them what they want. I'm not making an uneducated assumption here because in the past there was a lot to support it. Regardless of how many users disliked something, Sulake would still go ahead and push an update. Another example is, back in 2008 I submitted a ban appeal and took them almost 2 weeks to get back to me. When back then companies like blizzard and steam would respond to tickets with in 5 minutes. I know my example of support isn't directly relevant to habbo but it's showing basically shit customer support. I am also still, to this day completely baffled as to why they laid off all the local moderators and replaced them with Malaysians that do not care about the game, as where the moderators did. The way I see it, taking out staff that were local, knew the countries teen population socially and culturally was a form of company sucide. Instead of calling a vet to help this sick horse they ripped out an important organ to an already dieing brand.

Personally i beleive habbo are planning some sort of 'Attack' on Retros, As they stated on there site

"5. Why don’t you do anything to stop them?

Oh, yes we do. We cannot say a lot about what we are doing, otherwise we are jeopardizing the proceeding of the cases. However, we are following the scene actively and have already prepared and commenced legal actions against certain people. We are especially focused on shutting down and prosecuting individuals who are developing server emulator software. They are enabling the setting up of retro sites. Legally speaking they are jointly responsible for the right violations made by the actual retro sites."

The reason there still running is because there going to claim back all of there users by court cases ect. But the big question is WHEN are THEY going TO DO This?

I kinda think Habbo isn't very busy with retro's and it shouldn't be, it should focus on their own game. At least to get back some users. From 10K+ to 1K is a BIG difference..

War? Seriously? Then this is a war which retro's will win. I think Habbo retro's won't be shut down easily and they can always recover.

What would be the point of Updating the game when everyone can steal their files...
Retro's cant win if Most of them have been taking to court.

You say it right, IF. The chance is a tiny chance and if they want to do it they have to get your address. It's hard if people don't use their right address on hosting site account.

Sulake would give their VPS Host's Some money to reveal their login IP
Then Sulake would just find there address from their IP.

Quote from their Declaration of war. (accepted)

They pass themselves off as authentic Habbo sites and deceive consumers.
Bullshit, it doens't take a genius to see there Retros, and clearly state they are.

They illegally use our graphics, source code and databases, protected by copyright and database rights.
PARTIALLY Bullshit, We use their graphics, but Source code and Databases are written by developers, Not employed by you, therefore you cannot copyright them.

I think people have given in too soon! If Habbo lacks innovation, what do retros hold above Habbo in terms of client features? A few commands, maybe, that are just for show. Could it be that Habbo's just extremely limited to a few features, whereas retros aren't? Why are they limited if we're just kids?

We reverse engineer their AS3. We rip an SWF, that's not just graphics. That's code, sound, and design altogether.

AFAIK any evidence used in a court case has to be obtained by legitimate (legal) methods. Paying a host for information of a customer surely breaks data protection laws is not a legitimate method of getting information!

I don't know if I'm right or wrong. Someone with more knowledge of the law can correct me if you wish.

The ripping SWF Part is covered under another Declaration of war paragraph. And by using their Source Code I take they mean our Servers.

Quick Tutorial for Habbo;

How to Fix Habbo/and Tips for Future Reference:
1. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. If people like it, don't change it after a month/year. Wait until people really don't care for it anymore, then update.

2. Listen to the Users. Take Suggestions, Consider them, you don't have to go through with them, but don't insult the users by saying, "Great, a suggestion, let me just submit it to our suggestion bonfire, and we'll get back to you 'as soon as possible'. Thanks!"

3. Why remove it, if it ain't hurtin' anyone? If 100% of the users say, "No, don't take away that feature!" You probably should listen, if not slap yourself in the face for being a dumbass. Take it this way, no users, no money. Users are the priority. :)
I think we could all appreciate a return of the big hand. You could have just updated the big hand to have a scrolling feature. Didn't have to remove it altogether, but I understand, it only takes any old user compared to the "genius developers" behind Habbo to think of that, right?

4. Free Users? Might as well call them "Useless Users". Although they may not get you as much money as you'd like, maybe they would be more inclined to purchase credits if you allowed them to make some money without whippin' out papa's old Visa or MasterCard. Just let them earn credits at small rates.

5. Don't be stupid. Simple enough. It really doesn't take a genius to run the hotel. Just keep the users as the priority and that is how you can stabilize Habbo.

I'd continue, but Habbo would be closed by the time I finished the list. So, it'd take me a few years, maybe less.

Anyway, to those who are saying, "They should hire users like on retros." While I do agree, they should adapt some features from retros, hiring is out of the question because the users can't be trusted to uphold that responsibility.

Oooohhhh. Otaku has a court order. So scared, it only took them how many years to find the biggest source of Habbo Retros. They finally found it at it's weakest point when most of the hotels don't even run on it anymore. A year ago, they'd be cutting the snake's head off and taking out almost all the hotels immediately. Today, they're cutting the tip of the snake. It's not going to affect anyone.

Make it a joint-stock company?

Then interested users of habbo, can buy some stocks?
I think that would be the easiest solution ever?

Notice how the article revolves around Aaron and Phoenix?

What are they going to buy stocks with? Credits? Users aren't interested enough to purchase stocks for an unstable company. You might as well just donate to Sulake.
