How the launcher works?

I'm just wondering how the launcher functions.
How does it change which IP the client connects to?
Also, how was the exe translated? I can see many ways in which the translation can be improved.

I will be doing, I just need abit of information to.
If somebody tells me how the laucnher works, I can create a better version.
Right now, I just can't figure it out.
As for the translation, I can't see it being as easy as hexing, so how was it done?

translation: an ull decoder is located in 1 of the server folder
anyway, it ain't working (tried to decode some files, maybe i did smth wrong ?) :(
to translate files, u have to decode some ull files (see the eng patch archive - i posted a link to it)
about hexing: i dont know how to change the drop and exp rate (i din't hex the server files)
about translating quests: it's a server side job(huge i'd say anyway, cause there are over 1400 txt files)

as it goes for launcher ... the knowledge about how the launchers works would be nice to get to know ;)

Just had a check, from what I can see it sort of changes the exe with the IP.
This can be seen with a resource editor.
If I can get my head around it then i'll be creating my own autopatch/launcher.
