How to add custom items

Ok I've searched the threads in this section and maybe I missed something but I couldn't find a thread about adding custom made items in a 3d program to the server, I personally am skilled with 3d solids in multiple programs but I don't know what program I should use or even what file type I need to save it as to make it work.

Well as for editing you need the files unpacked, after unpacking you can find the files to edit in anim, map, mesh and skel. for texture editing you can find at texture. As for what program to use im not really sure as one of my developers say he can use autocad2009 with some plugins to edit them. Ive tryed and yes you can see the meshes but i really didnt save and try the new mesh as im mainly working on the server parameters.
