hello dear users
i found this funny that 1.00.16 main has the ability to lunch without launcher and with that looses the ability to connect an administrator to his own mu server if he has a router, or weird network, or whatever
in 1.00.16 i didnt find helpfull adding the launcher with the local ip instead of wan, aswell as hexing the main's ip to the local instead of wan.
but there is one more, and better sollution for this problem
its called:
Microsoft LoopBack Adapter
what it does is fixes some of your network conflicts by adding another network into your XP.
This guide also works for ALL the other versions if you dont want to mess up with IPs in launcher and main.
so here is an installation guide:
Click Start -> Control Panel
find Add Hardware and double click it
then press Next and it will search for new hardware. Most likely you don't have any uninstalled hardware, but if you do, install it and re try.
now click Yes i have already connected the hardware and click Next
now scroll down and find Add New Hardware Device
click on it and press Next
now choose Install the hardware that i manually select from a list and press Next
now find a Network Adapter, select it and press Next
now in the left window select Microsoft
and in the right windows select Microsoft Loopback Adapter
press Next
press Finish
great, half of the work is done
now go to
Network Connections
put ur cursor firs on one of them, then on the other, the one which in a cursor over says Microsoft Loopback Adapter, right click it, and rename to LoopBack
now
right click LoopBack and select Properties
in the second from the top box find TCP/IP and select it
click properties
now
select "Use the Following Ip Adress"
enter these details:
IP Adress: Your WAN IP (
Subnet Mask: 255 255 255 0
Default Gateway: Your WAN IP (
in the
Prefered DNS server
and Alternate DNS server leave blanks.
now press OK, and OK again.
Warning: If your IP changes every restart, or every once in a while, i am sorry but every change you will have to reconfigure this setting.
now try to connect to your server using a normal main you gave to all the others. (the one with ur WAN or No-IP inside)
i really hope this guide helped.
good luck
