How to establish a Maple Economy!
Follow these tips and tricks on how to establish a Maple Economy. They will help a lot and give your server a rare feature.
Meso Rate
The lower, the better. If you have a high meso rate, prices will seem high and and people will get to 2.1 billion mesos easily. Having a lower meso rate is more suitable as godly items can cost in the hundread millions and NOT in the billions.
1 Meso shops
NO! Just no. This will single handedly kill the economy. If every item in the game is accessible for 1 meso, then what are you going to give out during events? Fame? What if you want to add donator items? It's too late because everyone has a 21 attack glove and 50+ sauna and +3 necklaces. Don't ever add these.
Hired Merchants
You have to make sure your source has these. This is absolutely necessary for the economy. If yours don't get Xotic or something. You need this.
Smegas
You have to make sure smegas are not hard to get. I'm not telling you to make them for 1 meso but just make sure you can get them. People need smegas to get publicity for their shop or advertise a newly scrolled item.
Scrolls
This has a major impact on the economy. If scrolls are too easy to get (Especially white scrolls) people will perfectly scroll all their items. If there are too many godly items the price might drop. If godly items aren't worth anything then the economy has been killed. Make some scrolls not accessible by a shop but through events or donators. Some scrolls may be only found through monster drops.
Gachapon
This is where all the good items are found. Make sure gachapon tickets are not too easily found or else you are going to see too many pink/purple gaia capes and gold emerald earrings being sold in merchants. I would go as far as removing the Mushroom Shrine gachapon or replacing it secretly with another gachapon script. I almost never see anybody gacha in Kerning, Perion, Henesys etc.. because they know the one in Mushroom Shrine is better. If too many people gacha in one place, the item's price deflates.
The Law of Supply and Demand
The law that governs all economies......the law of supply and demand. Remember to make sure the supply of an item is not too high or else the item will be worth nothing. Keeping a high demand is good for a Maple economy because it makes players work harder for better items. For example if there are only 5 horntail pendants on the server and 100 players want them, the price will be very high since there is a high demand. If there are 1000 sets of kumbi on the server and only 100 assassins, the price will be low since there is a low demand. Having a good balance of supply and demand is important for the economy.
Inflation/Deflation
This goes hand and hand with the law of supply and demand. If there is too much of one item, the item's price deflates. Deflation is when the price of something goes down. The item becomes less and less worthy. This is not good. When there is too little of something, the item's price inflates. The item becomes worth more and more. This is good. It makes people have to work more for a good item.
Meso Farming
This is another thing that can kill your economy. If there is a place where you can get a huge amounts of mesos you should remove it or lower the amount of meso earned there. I meso farmed a lot so I would know. I would meso farm in the Wolf Spider Cavern. Another map is the Finance of the Flaming Raccoon. If the Amory has the Male Boss there, I would farm there too. You should watch out for places like these as players use them as quick money that ruins your economy.
