OK,
A friend of mine plays quake3 in he told me that they got .elu files either. He also seems to know how to edit them. This is what he says:
- install quake 3
- install quake 3 mod tools (map and model editors)
- convert the .elu file to a .map file using the q3 mod tools
- open the map file with 3ds max and edit it
- now compile/compress the .map file back to an .elu

He showed me that it worked with a .elu file he took from the quake3 directory.
I already installed 3ds max but didn't took the time to install quake 3 yet, and probably won't soon.
Well, know everybody knows a possible way to edit the gunz .elu files so i hope to hear some results.

Good Luck,

Bepetemish

ps. i almost forgot to tell that he warned me that when decompressing the file from .elu to a .map the light map get corrupt or something.

I stopped reading at the bold part. ELUs are shell files for models, they're not maps, and ELUs aren't anything significant themselves, only what's INSIDE them is what's important. This won't work.

You can kinda think of them like MRS files. They're some weird filetype that aren't really important themselves, only containers for the real important files.
