Huge Lag Issue -- not sure why

Alrite here is the problem. It isn't actually my problem but a frined of mine. He comes on my servera nd his latency skyrockets to 5k - sometimes even 20k and eventually it lands him into a DC. Now he is the only one with htis issue. My lat on my server can be as low as 5 - 150. And all the other people that paly on my server get a max of maybe 150 -500 lat. He is behind a wireless router. The only thing i can think of is he has closed ports? Or could it just be his internet sucks? Anyone know how we can fix this issue?

Have your friend run a bandwidth speed test. If he is the only one with the problem then your server is OK. If his ports were not open then I even doubt he could log on or play.

That's quite slow, kinda similar to the slowest DSL package where I live. He shouldn't ping out though. Maybe a routing issue.

have him do a traceroute to your server from him

start->run->cmd-> type tracert <your ip>

this is something he must do
