Sup guys, okay first off what happened to the search function i can't find it anywhere. Anyways, my friend is trying to buy a gaming PC. Our goal is to be able to play WoW on full quality no lag. Our price range is about 1,500 (including a decent monitor, like 19" flat panel if possible) give or take. Before you all start spaming me (even though I can't find the search function) I have read NoPeace's guide to buying a PC. The problem is that he needs some insurance because I am not fixing his computer if it breaks, and neither is he, so building one is out of the question. I've tried dell and their XPS are not bad a bit pricey, I can hit my mark but the graphics card is a "256MB nVidia GeForce 7900 GS." I think I can do better, maybe not? I don't know any suggestions will help. Thanks guys, you are my heros and heroines :)

hehe, you can run WoW full settigns no lag on a 6800 GT.. and thats a graphics card under a hundred bucks. for 1500, you could buy a midrange PC and it would run WoW flawlessly.. ABout to head out the door, wish I coudl take soem time to run a search for ya.. but the XPS would run the game just fine if you decided to order that. anything about a 7600GS will run it perfectly, the reason I say 7600, is because price for price, its useless to buy something as small as a 6800 ;)

I can agree on that as well.. if you have the ability and knowhow.. build it yoruself. Keep the warranties and if somethign happens.. remember, its not your fautl it broke.. its his, so he can fix it.

yeh, build it yourself... there is not gonna be any "if it breaks" situations cos it shouldn't unless you screw up the OS and need to reformat... or if you run over it with a vehicle.

putting all the stuff together is simple and just requires common sense, a lil logic, and the ability to read manuals. if something goes wrong with the hardware, just look over everything and make sure its all in properly... and if it is but still doesn't work, return the faulty part!

I would say build it yourself but if the person wants warranty then Dell has top notch one. Though the problem with Dell is that their desktops are over priced and don't perform well.

Alienware is good if you want to spend a little more but the best bang for your buck would be iBUYPOWER: Custom Build Gaming Computers Desktop PCs, Notebooks I have heard good stuff about their computer but I have no idea how good their warranty is.

Sorry but the lagg in WoW cant be fixed I think, cause of the overpopulation in SW and IF or ORG and UC. For other then that I have no trouble in WoW with my 7600 GT. Good luck on the computer.

Well, personally I don't like pre-buid [desctop] solutions. There should be computer shops where you can just choose components and they (for a small fee) will build you your system. I find this way better (than building myself) because they're testing it and if someth. wrong they can just replace parts.

ALIENWARE....for a gaming pc, dont go anywhere else.

The #1 largest problem with Alienware, is your spending like +$250-500 per machine on just a brandname. Price out a machine on yrou own with the same specs they have, and youll see jsut how much you can save if you build it yourself ;)

I can say, I REALLY do miss my 20" CRT central heating unit ;) But, that doesnt really have too much to do with the topic now ;) haha

i have found that out just recently, as i went to there online store and clicked everything that was the biggest, best and most expensive, and the final price was 15,528 aussie dollars...gee! But even then i still think alienware is one of the best for those like myself, who actually havnt built a pc b4...but the think i like most about alienware is their garantee, and warranty, along with the fact you always know you get quality PCs

build the system your self... its not that hard... look around pick the parts see if they will work with the chosen motherboard and then buy... u will save much more money that way :P...

if u want you can even post the parts up and i am sure everyone here can tell you if its good or crap... and if u need extra help look at nopeaces buying guides

Yes... For $15k you can have them build you a computer... Or for $5k you can build your self a better one...
