As some of you may know, I've had my own place for quite a long time now, actually way too long, i should have been in there months ago... oh well, it's actually not a financial strain (I'm still gaining money each month while I'm just in college), anyway I made calculations on my financial status, expected expenses, income etc, now the more i own already, the less stuff i still need to buy, at the moment i my calculations leaves me with about 1000 euro when i got all my stuff, which is quite a bit more then my initial calculations, with some proper searching and all for stuff i got some really good deals which saved me shitloads.

I'm just really happy with this, i knew i could make it financially, but i was afraid i would be left with close to nothing. :)

Anyway since my phone battery is getting pretty damn shit, I'm considering getting the HTC Touch Pro or Sony Ericsson Xperia X1

Touch Pro (the pic doesn't justify the slick look of this phone btw, you really have to see it to know how good it looks)

Both (only silver is available here)

Both are incredible phones, both run on Windows Mobile 6.1 (both have a navigation system besides the standard Windows, the Xperia has a similar feeling of the cross media bar from the PSP and PS3, and the Touch Pro a system more like what the iPhone uses - both work very well with just your fingers), have built in GPS (for navigation), Touch screen, high resolution (Xperia 800x480, Touch Pro 640x480, the first being about 5-6 times as much as a regular PDA screen and the latter 4 times), 3G (HSDPA which gets you 1Mb download and 384Kb upload), full keyboard (Xperia requires you to hold a button for the numbers, but the keys are located "properly" - like a real keyboard), microSD slot and all sorts of other stuff, basicly anything you can possibly expect and more tbh. ;)

I'm not sure which to get, the Xperia has advantages but so does the Touch Pro, Xperia offers a larger screen and better battery life but has quite a few complaints of paint coming off at some places, SE is working on this, but currently even the latest models have this problem, seeing as they are working on this i can still demand a new casing for 2 years after i bought it. The Touch Pro has no casing problems, has numbers on it's keyboard (I'm used to the layout, so it doesn't matter much to me), looks imo a bit better and some software will work properly on the 640x480 screen, but not on the 800x480 screen (lots of windows mobile development been done for 640x480, but not so much for the 800x480 screen due it being the first windows mobile phone with it)
Oh another disadvantage for the Touch Pro is that my brother already owns it. :P

I'm leaning towards the Xperia, but the casing issues puts me off a bit.

In the past all of Sony Ericsson's phones were centered around music so I'm led to believe that music will play a lead role in this phone. If this is true you'll have to make the decision on whether or not you want a phone for music or the HTC Touch Pro which seems to be well rounded. Also the interface for the HTC looks easier to just pick up and use.

The interfaces are pretty much the same, the looks are different, but the idea behind it is the same, besides i will mostly just use the regular Windows interface which i have been using for 1,5 year.

The Xperia is quite different from other SE's, first of all it was actually made by HTC... yes i know, quite weird, but it's true, second it's their first Windows Mobile phone (explain the HTC part who has the most expierence with WM) and third the hardware is pretty much the same, the Touch Pro does have 288mb memory instead of 256, but everything else is the same. Tbh there are very little differences, to the core they are both the same, it's the screen, keyboard, design, the interface over the standard windows that makes the big difference.

The blackberry storm is absolutely no option, the amount of pixels on the Xperia is more then twice as much (aka sharper screen and more info on it), it has half the ram, it has no wireless lan, no keyboard, less then half the standby time and a third less talk time. Not to mention that a wide range of programs and other stuff was made or adjusted for Windows Mobile, aka you can do shitloads on it besides the standard stuff on it.
That blackberry has the same market as the iPhone, HTC Touch Diamond, Samsung Omnia etc etc. From what i can tell there are only 2 phones with all the stuff named above, and that are the Touch Pro and Xperia.
