Hey. I've not been here for a while but i'm sure a few members know and or remember me. Anyway, i'm on the verge of going insane. I've been trying to find a decent job recently, a night shift, or a day shift didn't matter as long as i make some cash cause i am poor at the moment lol. Anyway, every time i have applied for a job, i get the same response.

I'm sorry sir, but you won't be able to cope in this job.

 I even got it at the local super market (Tesco, co-op, a newsagent LOL, computer stores, everywhere imagined). I ask the right questions, i tell them all the information they need to know, and then i just keep my mouth shut until they speak to me. Maybe this where i am going wrong?. :bad: This is a very strange post i know, but bare in mind i am on the verge of going insane. Anybody got any idea's on what's going wrong, or.. any tips? I don't fancy joining the army just yet but if i have no luck in a year i'm just gonna join anyway. :2gunsfiring_v1:

PS;

I'm 20 years of age now
Height: 5"8 roughly
Weight: 9 stone + possibly 10 (right weight for my age, apparently)
Location: Manchester

I do have an illness, and i'm not allowed to do any uber heavy lifting, i can if required, but i can't do it like all day if you get me, and i don't mention any of my illnesses in the interview (just a fatigue syndrome nothing serious).

So yeah um, if anybody could give me any advice (if you're just gonna post shit don't bother wasting your time e.g. noob , ect.).

Cheers.

It could be that they are looking for people with great experience or something similar. Maybe its just not that sickness alone but they way you speak to them.
Its all practice and last don't give up. Try and be more stubborn about applying.
I will leave you with Good Luck.

well u could always try to applie for a Telemarketing job or in a Research ( surveys ) company... its wut i did and i work there for an year already. and i am only 18.

Anyways just to tell its the way u speak with the preson and the first 30 seconds of encounter with them... When u enter in less then a minute u are already judged by the way u look, how confortable u feel enterting and speaking... wut u wear, ect.

These 30 seconds a SoO crutial... it makes your chances to get the job go up or down by atleast 40%.

Maybe Its The Way U Speak Or Maybe Cozz U Dont Speak Too Much. I Find That Some People Want "Talking" Employees. Mean, Charismatic.

Try practising looking convident in a mirror. Of the 5 jobs I sollicited in person for in the past few years I've gotten 4, though of the 30 or so I've aplied for in writing I've been only invited for a meeting for 1 of them.

Trick is to look like you bloody well own the place, be relaxed and look healthy and on top of things. This is ofcourse easy to say but incredibly hard to do, which is why you need to practice. If you can, get some relative or friend to practise on.

Also look at what you wear. Don't go to interviews in baggy trousers or loose hanging shirts, if you have any gay friends ask them to help you shop or at least pick out your clothes. Don't overdress either, its no use applying for a grocery-store job in a 3-part suit. Get enough sleep, but be sure to wake up several hours before the interview.

Ow, and I'm 21, though without a 'reall' job as I'm still studying astronomy here in Groningen :icon6:

I decided to goto the job center today and the women said "You're very precise, and you hold back sometimes just to think about something rather than just doing it". Maybe this is why people say you won't be able to cope. Doesn't make any sense to me. Oh, and she said i looked like a miserable bastard (which is true).
