Because we are not medically trained; anything we suggest may lead to serious side effects, the blame for which will fall solely on the person who suggested it.

Clearly none of you have been to A&E for a broken X! All they'll tell you is to keep it protected, and not to strain/move it too much.

If it still hurts tomorrow as much as it did when you first did it then you've probably fractured/broken something.

Most probably, yes. But until that one person stands up and says "yes, i am medically trained!" and from there on end all medical enquiries are diverted onto that person, the OP's are basically getting advice from people who have no idea what they are talking about and could very well be making the problem worse.
