I have a job at American Eagle right now, and im pretty happy with it. BUT there is Abercrombie & Fitch which is more expensive and somewhat more popular. Now I have been working at American Eagle for 1 and 1/2 years, but Abercrombie has just offered me a job as an instore service manager. This means that I will be shopping at any Abercrombie store I am told to shop at to see how the service is. Basically im supposed to see how helpful they are, how polite they are, how fast the store is, and just how everything is going. Career wise this would be an awsome switch, and i think i should do it. Any thoughts, suggestions, or ideas that might help me make the best decision?

Oh and another positive is that I get to keep the things that I buy while im monitoring the stores. And the manager guy said that they are using me as a sort of test, since they have never given such a job to a 16 year old, and that if i accept, i will be the youngest manager in any kind of department they have ever had. :)

American eagle is pretty good, I'd stick with it.

Personally i would do it but think about it hard is it what u want because if it isnt then the job u previously had may have bin taken but it sounds like a great career change if its what u want :) gl on your decision

Ok so i havent told my manager at American Eagle yet about the possible job switch, but i talked to the Abercrombie general manager about letting me do a demo of the job. So he said that tomorow he would take me to the nearest Abercrombie store location near my house, and show me how i would do the job. So if i like it, then i will take it, but if i dont, then i guess ill stick with American Eagle.

My pay for American Eagle right now is about $15 an hour. But, with the Abercrombie job, each store that I shop at and write a review for, i get $250. And i will be doing 6-10 stores every week.

A bad side is that I only have 1 abercrombie shirt. The rest of my closet is American Eagle, so i will have to TOTALLY change my clothes.

is it true that you like girls in abercrombie and fitch in the summer?

Abercrombie girls are hot as hell. I think they are one of the advantages of going to A&F.

what do they sell?

They sell awsome clothes.

Explain to me why i have this big doubt that going by your numbers, you could as a 16 year old, that really offers nothing that can't be offered by almost anyone else, make 10 grand a month... Either the dollar really turned to **** and 10 grand is only 1/10th of what it used to be worth, or the story is simply wrong.

you can go on the site and check out diffrent positions. then if you call in to their customer service, you can find out how much each position makes.

Ofcourse you know that i wouldn't call as it would cost me about 10 grand just to ask that stuff.

Look the simple fact is that no one is paying a kid 10 grand a month to check out customer service in stores, besides the obvious reasons, there is also the reason that they can get lots of people for half of that, or half of that, because let's face it, getting 2500 would be awesome for a 16 year old, so why the hell would they pay you 10 grand.

Also i really don't see why a large companie would offer a 10 grand a month manager job to a 16 year old that is just working in a cloths store. Who are you trying to kid here?

Why don't you tell the actual story here....

The numbers of the stores i check that i posted arent actual, all i have is a rough idea. I have only talked to the manager about what the perks and stuff would be for me to switch. we havent actually gotten down to the my actual work schedule yet. i do that tomorow so ill let you know. and as for my pay, that seriously is the amount that he said i would be paid around. And as for the 16 year old part, in my first post, i said that the reason i was being selected for this is because they want to try like the "younger" view on things and that i would sort of be a test for them. I'll tell you tomorow what the actual numbers and stuff are.

Won't they know who you are? Is this Mystery Shopping?

They wont really know its me cause i will blend in. its not like im going to the store everyday and reviewing them. I think each store gets a review every 2 weeks or every month. Its somewhat like mystery shopping, except i have to write a report about the diffrent things that i found satisfactory and others that could have been better.

You need to check the market a little more. Mystery shopping has some of the best unqualified job offers.

I leave in 3-4 hours for the test.

Gohn was right. The job sounded way too good to be true. There are 5 stores around me that I am supposed to review, and they 3 of them (which have had bad reviews in the past) get reviewed each moneth, and the other 2 get a review every month and a half. So i wont be making those BIG bucks that i thought i would. But im still considering taking the job since it would still be awsome.

Couldn't you do them both? I doubt the Abercrombie gig would be something you do constantly, so maybe you could combine them.
