hey guys

i just have a few questions

1. im using jpt first edition server files and i was wondering how to translate all the items, npc's and monsters etc to english

2. can i/how can i add in premium shops, hair stylists, costume shops etc?

3. do i need better files to do this?

4. are their better server files than the ones that im using that are open for the public?

if anyone can answer even one of these questions id appreciate it

reason for posting and not editing = the 14 people who already looked at it, might be able to answer this question but prob wouldnt look again unless it had a post.. (just my theory.. lol)

ok 2 main things i really want to get working

how do i put npc with hair dyes in?
how do i get sod working? everytime i enter it, something wierd happens with the graphics and no monsters appear nor does sod appear to start
are there files that have npc's and items translated? or do i have to do that myself? if so, how?

open the gamerserver\npc folder in here you will find the npc's inventory's, name & action files.
in these files you can alter what they sell use the allknown item code's
now inthe npc folder is a other folder called name.
so gamerserver\NPC\name
in these files you can alter what they say into what ever language you want.

to alter hair and stuff you dont need the server files at all these files ar client side.
( and only you can see these mod's in action as you play the game )
hint : bmp patcher or the tga viewer.

3. do i need better files to do this?

no you need to get the encryption of them so you can open them to change colors or any thing you want to be changed.
( we even succesfully opened the 3D files but the program we used just slipt my mind cant remmeber the name also we wernt able to save the modded 3D animation wich could be done if you have a full working program lol )
maybe poeple here already tryed it too and can tell you the 3D tool name.


4. are their better server files than the ones that im using that are open for the public?

no these are the original server files made by triglow them self
so unless your a japanese guy you have lots of work to do.
maybe some poeple could hoste the database files here wich they translated.
( and if possable the same text that the original servers use )

All that you request is already done by masses of server owners. Maybe if you look at them with puppy eyes and ask them friendly to give you all that, they will upload it for you.

The new hairstyles need to be in the server exe, otherwise clients will disconnect.

hmmm i just ran into a wierd problem, i was running the first edition files with the kpt server patch and using rpt's client side stuff and everything was working fine, well except for the item names and npc names etc, so i did a google search of ragezone forum to find translated files, and i found them, so i replaced each set of files with the translated ones... and now...
when i try to log in i get connection failed
if i try a second time, my computer crashes to a black screen

occasionally i get past the login bit, just to get d/c as i spawn into the game..

any ideas? maybe the translated files where not compatible with my version or something?

oh and opers, any hints in which direction i should be directing those puppy dog eys? lol

well i did ask Sandurr on rpt a few days ago, but he never got back to me
i think ill just try my best to get stuff workingwith help on here because i understand how enoying it must be for them with people asking for thier files... lol
never know, maybe sometime they mite willingly compile their files and release them to the RZ community
