Well, it may be different in JUST the armour wil files but those 8bits of data you don't know about may be colouring information.

When creating a new armour wil (by adding a new armour to replace an old one) ALL armours will no longer allow you to change their colour, old or new.

Yesterday i talked with Kaori and he finished new version of KaoriMim (1.20). This release should work properly and after import armour, colours should work.

If your talking about the new EI Armour, I did it a slighlty diff way myself though still not right as of yet (needs more work). I exported the old EI Armour file to a dir (piccys), then did the same with the new armour. Now delete/overwrite the 3001-6000 file and replace with the new armour. rebuild file from images.

Now what this achieves is that the old armour works fine, it can be coloured etc. The new armour though I have noticed something, after a certain point in the file they have empty spaces where as old wil file had images - this means when you attack something in certain directions, your body is not there (as its empty spaces in wil file).

With a bit of work It can be fixed of course, i had to replcace the base armour myself as i found it would not read even though i had created a extra number of holes in the wil file.

Other software caused that prob but using kaori's editor, as long as u use type 1, u shud b fine as long as u alter the information when rebuilding the wil
