Hi,
I am sry about this question...but what is the difference between L2 (Off) and L2 (L2J) ? Both is Lineage2 ?

They both are lineage 2 server systems.

L2OFF is the one that NCSOFT uses. The lastest leaked (also known as stolen) version is a c4 retail one. As it's stolen no one has the source code and developing new features (like c5 or soon c6 features) is hard and relies on making dll's (you'd have to know a lot of ASM and the l2server structure to do that).

L2J is an open source project created some time ago. It is a server emulator writen in java (or jython i can't remember, never used it xD).

They both have their pros and cons, just read around.

L2J is very close to full C5 and is already supporting interlude with some aded. Official is C4 and a long ways from being full C5. Official will get you owned if your server gets big. L2J will not. You need a beast of a server to run a server with official files. A normal anyday desktop will run the L2J server no problem. Alot of people see a l2j server and don't even try it. L2J used to be horrible with constant crashes, lag, no geodata etc.... But that is no longer the case. They have made huge improvements in all these areas. The server is now stable and properly configured is lag free up to about 600 people if you have the connection and hardware to support that many, will support many more in the very near future. Also since they have solved stability issues they have shifted towards working on performance and clearing up lag. They just started and already huge improvements. I used to use Official files but have switched to L2J now due to how fast they catch up with released chronicles and the sharing of their community. I was bored so a long post

2 months ago i set up an l2j server..i created a clan and then i (the leader) pressed the leave button and left the clan...that was nice!!

p.s. l2j is very vulnerable to exploits even if it is "full" c5

Thanks come again. There may be a few exploits in L2J but no more than the OFF files. hlapex is fixed now along with a few others that were plaguing servers a few weeks ago. I have not heard of anything new yet.

When java 1.7 will be release along with newer MySql server versions, L2J will be able to hold over 1000+ without any lags and it will be more stable because L2J has an entire team working at it and fixing bugs every day!
On the other hand L2OFF doesn't have an team working at it and its curently supporting C4.L2J is alomost full C5 ,has geodata ,at this moment it can handle 500-600 without lag and it can even support Interlude Client.

Its a simple answer: NCSOFT have full C5 files and wil always have Full files. Very few bugs can be found on retail servers.And the most important:NCSOFT server's can handle over 6000 users online each(don't know exaclty because i don't play there )
Most ppl use L2J because they can have a server with 200 users online using their home PC and because it can be very easy moded.

But apparently he is so leet cause he can setup a official server he must expect the l2j server to bow down and configure itself properly. L2j is Not Better Than L2 OFf.
For the Fact that Not as many things work.

L2j - Is Way More bugs than L2off... For the simple fact that they have not even had enough time to Add all of the missing stuff.

Not Only that... half the Summons/Boss spawns dont even work Correct.
Everything is masive Buged...

Now listen.

If you want just a simple Pvp Server 2000X rate... no one could care if u have l2 Off Or L2j

BUT...

If u want a low / medium rater server...
with Sieges and Clans/ wars involved... and you want quests/BOss to work 100% you want AND NEED l2 off.

not Only That.... but Just because it can allow c5 to conect does not Automaticly make it C5..... most of the L2j Servers are just Configured to accept connections from c5 clients... and yet do not have all c5 features..

So it Goes like this.... If u JUSt Want to Run C5 For no reason.... Go to L2j.
If you have serious User amounts / War / siege / Grind / Quest / Boss in mind..... you need L2oFf jsut for the fact that 99 % of the stuff works correct.

After all ? what can be better than the real Deal?
