I'm wondering on what people's thoughts are on having a conquer server where you can use the same account and character, on different "Servers" that are all registered with 1 main server (Login server)
Conquer's current system: You register an account to the database which the Main server (login server) is located. When you join one of their servers it connects with the main server to check the username/password etc and get's characters stats depending on which server they had stats on.
My idea: It's alot like how RuneScape have it with worlds. I'll have a login server and when people register they won't be limited to using their characters in 1 server. They can log out of 1, log into another one with different users there and still using the same character. an Example of it's benefits: if you are plvling and a spawn is taken, you can switch server and do it on a different one where nobody might be their.
It can have 1 pvp server which would be enabled for pvp everywhere (using your characters that you had from other servers to be able to have some fun whenever you like) This would not mean spawning items/levels. You'd be using Characters that you leveled up from another server.
Depending how i program it, i aim to be able to chat on friends list to players on other servers and have a message board that are linked with all servers.
As for the source i'll use, i might clean and rewrite LOTF.
From a developer's pov i don't see a downside, if anyone know's a downside visually, and programming it please leave thoughts.
